Blog Interview
I have always wanted to live a better life. I never thought the 9-5 life was for me. People who have inspired me the most have been Tyler Perry, Eric Thomas and Diddy. Me being a new blogger, like most of us in this class, would like to make a living doing this. When Dr. Clark told us about adopting a blog and interviewing the blog, I thought it was awesome to get tips on someone who is already successful doing it. How I found the person the interview was kind of random due to seeing Revolt TV retweet a tweet Jen Deleon made. I saw she had a blog and checked it out. I was impressed and decided I had to interview her.
Jen has been blogging since middle school and has always loved writing. I feel that is important because you have to love writing to have a great blog. Writing has always been an escape for her and loves being able to inspire others with her blog posts. This statement was powerful because I feel the same way when I talk to people everyday. I challenge that all of us look to inspire at least one person a day. If you do that you can change the world.
The main reason I like Jen’s blog so much is that she puts a lot of her personal stuff out there. Most blogs I read you barely get to know the person behind the blog. Jen does this without sacrificing the content on the blog. Her blog isn’t boxed into one niche and she doesn’t write for hits on her blog.
Her blog is ranked in the top 900,000 in the United States according to the Alexa rankings. She gets about 3,000 unique visitors and around 10,000 hits a month. She mentioned that if she blogged daily those numbers would be much higher.
She also works for Skee.TV and HotNewHipHip.com. Her advice to any blogger is to be consistent and update your blog at least twice a week. She also mentioned that you should speak what interest you and not because you think it will do numbers for you. I wish I had more time to interview her, but she gave a lot of great answers that hopefully will help all the new bloggers out there. I would love to interview her again, but more on what has made her successful as a young businesswoman.

Jennette McCurdy, Demands More Money
Jennette McCurdy was a no show at the Kids Choice Awards this past weekend and showed her frustration over her current contract on twitter saying " I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing. I want to thank those of you who have reached out with kind words of support, McCurdians and Arianators alike. No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you."
McCurdy tweeted shortly after it has nothing to do with the leaked racy pictures that are on the internet. Her dissatisfaction with Nickelodeon stems from getting paid way less than Ariana Grande. The same thing occurred when she was on Icarly and got paid way less than Miranda Cosgrove. McCurdy is tired of getting paid like she is second fiddle to someone else.
McCurdy doesn't have the star power like Ariana Grande, but I hope this situation works out for the best for her.

Should Guys Wear Dresses?
I was scrolling through the internet yesterday and saw a picture of this up and coming rapper, Young Thug, wearing something that looked like a dress. I wasn't entirely sure if it was a dress or some kind of long tee like what A$AP Rocky wore. After watching this video below Young Thug revealed he was wearing a girl's dress.
Young Thug is the first mainstream rapper to admit that he wears a dress and if anyone is familiar with The Boondocks they predicted this would happen. Personally I don't care if he is gay or not, but a man should never wear a dress except if he is dressing in drag. I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on this in the comment section if guys should wear dresses or not.

Mazetti speaks to UCO students
Honestly before being given this assignment I didn't even know who this speaker was. I had to get a little background information about Mark Mazetti before I went and saw his speech. His speech was so informative about what the CIA is really all about.
He talked about the Shadow War all throughout his speech and how the lines were blurred from what the spies do and what the soldiers do. Until 9-11 Mazetti mentioned that the CIA focused on espionage and were not allowed to kill anyone. After 9-11 the strategies changed and those strategies eventually helped aid in the capture of Osama Bin Laden in 2011.
All in all a very interesting speech and learned a lot more about our government.

Guest Speaker
Dr. Kurt Hochenauer gave a lot of helpful advice to us as bloggers. A few things I got from his speech was to make sure you find a niche to blog about, be a good writer, and write interesting articles to grab the audiences attention. Without doing these things you risk not getting the traffic needed to monetize your blog if that is your goal. You don't want a blog that is boring or doing a niche that is crowded. You want unique good content and post frequently. By doing this you will get the traffic you want.

What is Cam's Hot Seat?
Cam's Hot Seat is a crazy idea I thought of while in this blogging class. At first it was a fun little idea just for the class, but then I thought to myself I might as well try to make a little extra cash off of it. People will get some cold hard facts on top of news that I came across during the week.
My goal creating this site is to be one of the first people to create nice unique content people will love reading and getting something new from the story. Leave a comment for suggestions for my site and I am open for any changes anyone commenting may have.

Work in Progress
Just like my blog we are all a work in progress. Some of us more so than others. My goal everyday is to be a better me. We all go through setbacks and struggles. We got to be strong enough to make it through the storm because the sunshine is right around the corner.

Are you my type?
I feel like the font on my blog is extremely easy to read, but the weakness is that it is a little too basic even though my blog is still a work in progress.
